Tryout Fees

The tryout fee is a NON-REFUNDABLE fee. It does NOT commit a player to the club, nor does it guarantee a player a position on a Force team. Every traveling player must have paid the tryout fee, whether or not they attend tryouts, in order to be considered for placement on any Force traveling soccer team.

Tryout fees are as follows:
  • $40 thru July 28th
  • $55 on July 29th

Tryout Location

Force tryouts will be held at Zane Sports Fields in Brooklyn Park. Players should check-in for tryouts 15 minutes prior to their first scheduled session by Zane fields 6 and 7.

UNABLE TO ATTEND TRYOUTS?

Contact our Player Director @ playerdirector@forcesc.org for information on possible tryout makeup dates.

POST TRYOUT INFO

Following tryouts, an email will be sent to you if you have an offer for a team for Spring/Summer Traveling.  At that point, each player and their family will make a decision to either accept or decline the team offer by the listed deadline. The player/family will then have until the deadline to accept or decline the offer by registering online.

FORCE SOCCER CLUB TRYOUT - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q:  What is the purpose of Tryouts?

A:  Tryouts are conducted every year for competitive soccer. Players will be placed at the level where they fit best developmentally based on coach feedback and player development over the season along with their tryout performance. Rosters typically change season-to-season between U9-U14 and somewhat between U15-U18.

Q: Where are tryouts held?

A:  Tryouts for will be held at Zane Sports Complex, 8900 Zane Avenue North, Brooklyn Park, MN 55443.

Q:  Do I have to pay tryout fees to play even if I can't attend tryouts or don't try out?

A: Yes, you are required to pay a tryout fee for placement on a team for all players, even if the player cannot attend the tryout sessions.

Q: What am I trying out for?

A: Tryouts are used to determine placement for similarly skilled players in the same age brackets, for U9-U18, for Spring/Summer season teams.  Fall league play is optional.

Q: Does my player need to attend more than one tryout session?

A: YES, players should attend all scheduled tryout sessions for their age group and gender to ensure they receive a full assessment.

Q: Do you offer soccer for U9?

A: Yes! Tryouts will be held for U9 players.

Q: How do I know which age group my child is in?

A: Age groups are defined using Birth Year Guidelines for the appropriate season.

Q:  Will my child be able to play with his/her friends?

A:  While teamwork is important, keeping teams together starting at U9 would not be beneficial. Individual kids develop at different rates and grouping individuals based on their developmental level at the point in time is in the best interest of the individual and the team. This gives the opportunity for all players to be both challenged and successful.

Q: What if I don't play fall league but want to play Spring/Summer?

A: Tryout placement applies to the Spring/Summer season only. Players can register for Fall league independent of Spring/Summer League play. Tryouts are not required for players interested in playing for the Fall league only.

Q: What's the tryout process?

A: Each player is assessed by experienced evaluators. A variety of soccer skills and situations will be evaluated. Each player will receive a score that will be used for team placement. Upon completion of the tryouts, a placement committee meets to determine player and team placement. Following tryouts, an email will be sent to you if you have an offer for a Spring/Summer competitive team.  At that point, each player and their family will make a decision to either accept or decline the team offer by the listed deadline. The player/family will then have until the deadline to accept or decline the offer by registering online.

Q: What should I bring to tryouts?

A: Come prepared on your scheduled day with cleats, an age-appropriate inflated soccer ball, shin guards and water!

Q: Can parents and coaches watch or attend the tryout sessions?

A: Parents and coaches are not allowed to participate in the evaluation of players. Parents and coaches are welcome to remain onsite in the designated space for spectators.

Q: What if I can't make the tryout sessions?

A: If a player cannot make any of the scheduled tryout sessions, please email playerdirector@forcesc.org.

Q: My player would like to try out for an older age level, but there is only one age group available for sign up.  How do we sign up for the older tryout?

A: The player will only need to register at their age level (automatically determined by birth date) and pay one tryout fee, then contact the Gender Director to notify them of your interest in trying out for an older age group. The player will need to attend the tryouts for both age groups to be evaluated at each level.

Please email info@forcesc.org with any additional questions.
