2021 Tryouts

Tryouts for the 2021 summer competitive season are held immediately after the end of the 2020 summer season. Please see the schedule on this page for tryout dates and times.

Tryout Fees

The tryout fee is a NON-REFUNDABLE fee. It does NOT commit a player to the club, nor does it guarantee a player a position on a Force team. Every traveling player must have paid the tryout fee, whether or not they attend tryouts, in order to be considered for placement on any Force traveling soccer team.

Tryout fees are as follows:

$40 thru July 25th
$55 on July 26th

Tryout Location

Force tryouts will be held at Zane Sports Fields in Brooklyn Park. Players should check-in for tryouts 15 minutes prior to their first scheduled session by Zane fields 6 and 7.

UNABLE TO ATTEND TRYOUTS?

Contact our Gender Director @ genderdirector@forcesc.org for information on possible tryout makeup dates.

POST TRYOUT INFO

Following tryouts, an email will be sent to you if you have an offer for a team for Spring/Summer Traveling.  At that point, each player and their family will make a decision to either accept or decline the team offer by the listed deadline. The player/family will then have until the deadline to accept or decline the offer by registering online.

No action by the player/family will be treated as the position being declined.

FORCE SOCCER CLUB TRYOUT - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q:  What is the purpose of Tryouts?

A:  Tryouts are conducted every year for competitive soccer. Players will be placed at the level where they fit best developmentally based on coach feedback and player development over the season along with their tryout performance. Rosters typically change season-to-season between U9-U14 and somewhat between U15-U18.

Q: What am I trying out for?

A: Tryouts are used to determine placement for similarly skilled players in the same age brackets, for U9-U18, for Spring/Summer season teams.  Fall league play is optional.

A: YES, players should attend all scheduled tryout sessions for their age group and gender to ensure they receive a full assessment.

Q: How do I know which age group my child is in?

A: Age groups are defined by the MYSA Birth Year Guidelines for the appropriate season.

Q:  Will my child be able to play with his/her friends?

A:  While teamwork is important, keeping teams together starting at U9 would not be beneficial. Individual kids develop at different rates and grouping individuals based on their developmental level at the point in time is in the best interest of the individual and the team. This gives the opportunity for all players to be both challenged and successful.

Q: What if I don't play fall league but want to play Spring/Summer?

A: Tryout placement applies to the Spring/Summer season only. Players can register for Fall league independent of Spring/Summer League play.
